What We Do:
Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, voice, and cognitive-communication disorders for the children and students we serve from birth to age 21. SLPs collaborate with other school professionals and parents to meet children and student goals and provide appropriate accommodations and modifications, advocate for students’ communication and language needs, participate in their school’s RTI teams when applicable, and complete necessary documentation to comply with state and federal requirements. For additional information on SLPs roles and responsibilities, please reference the ‘ASHA SLP Roles & Responsibilities’ resource below.
